Just a correction I work at a family owned publication and we have seen wage freezes, lay offs, huge budget cuts everything but furloughs. As shorthanded as we now are I would love a day off even without pay.

That's a good point D.J. Morris Communications is family-owned as well and is in dire straits too. Guess the best advice is to do your homework.

Did you fill your position? I see in your profile you describe your location "just south of hell." No way man. I've seen your location and it's beautiful. I've seen hell, and her name is West Tennessee. Ugg!

We have a hiring freeze so lost positions go unfilled unless approved by the GM, then the Publisher, then the owner of the company. The area does have a rustic beauty but over a dozen days in a row above 130 degree is hell. It is usually either death Valley or us that is the hottest in the country each day in the summer.
